As a specialist college for mathematics and computing, Driffield School are proud to host our very own podcast.  Our aim is to involve as many of the students, staff, parents and local community in our podcast and its website as possible.  The podcasts will be published and available for download on a regular basis.   Many students will have the opportunity of listening to each podcast during their tutor time, as well as being able to download them onto MP3 players.  We hope that you will take this opportunity to listen to our Driffield School Podcast and find out more about what is going on in the school.

RECORDING FOR THE PODCAST

Parents and local residents are encouraged to submit files to be included in the Driffield School podcast.  You can use your mobile phone to record interviews etc, take pictures to go on the website and even take short videos.  Don’t worry about the file formats, simply download your files from your phone to your PC and then send them to us by email.   Alternatively, if you do not have these facilities, please contact Mrs Baxter in the ICT department (ext 246 0r email:  podcast@driffield.eriding.net)  who will be happy to arrange to record an interview at a mutually convenient time.

We are particularly interested in featuring stories from past pupils – perhaps their memories of the school or something about what they are doing now.  In addition, we are happy to feature information about any relevant local issues or perhaps some careers advice.  We generally do not encourage submissions for commercial gain, but please contact us if there is something that you would like to discuss as everything will be considered!  If you would like to sponsor a competition or similar by providing a suitable prize this would be particularly well received.

Please remember that when you send your files to the podcast you are agreeing that these may be published on the internet and the files then become the property of Driffield School (this is in order to comply with Copyright law).   Please make sure that you provide details of what the files contain plus the full names of any people that are featured.  Your audio file should be a MAXIMUM of three minutes long and video files a MAXIMUM of 30 seconds.  We cannot provide any guarantee that we will use your files in the podcast but will do our best to include everything that is suitable.  It is likely that we may need to edit your original files to ensure that they are of the right quality and length.

 COMMENTING ON THE PODCAST

Parents and local residents are encouraged to leave (positive!) comments about each week’s podcasts on this website.  This is of great benefit for our students as it gives them feedback from outside the school – they often take twice as much notice of it!  Simply click on the comment hyperlink under the podcast entry that you wish to make a comment on.  Your comment will not appear immediately (so DO NOT keep resending it!) as it will be screened by a teacher first.  It should appear on the site within 24-48 hours of you posting it.
