Episode Thirty One

June 3rd, 2010 by

As in previous years, Driffield School has recently hosted a day for some Year Six students to work with the ICT department and a number of older students to produce some episodes of the podcast targetted specifically next year’s Year Seven students.

Twenty four students from Driffield Junior school spent the day working in groups and interviewing students and staff around the school, before learning the technical skills to enable them to put the files together into a final podcast format.

We are proud to present the first of our series of podcasts this half term.  This podcast is brought to you by the Green Group – Hannah, Isabelle, Fern and Kristian.  It features an interview with Mr Green, head teacher of Driffield School and also an interview with Mrs Harrison, Learning Resource Centre manager.

Welcome to our new style podcasts, produced by our student production team.  We will aim to upload a monthly podcast throughout 2010 for your delight and entertainment.  This month we have an interview with local bobby PC Steve Wilson as well as a focus on the work of the history department.  In addition, you can hear the music of some of our talented Y12 students.  Split your sides laughing at the new features – confessions of a teacher and joke of the month.

Episode Twenty Nine

December 13th, 2009 by

We close the Autumn term with a special podcast all about our recent Year Seven ‘PLTS’ day (personal learning and thinking skills) which focussed around the subjects of Design and Technology and Science.  Mrs Wicks and Mrs Warner host the podcast and lead us through some of the highlights of the day.  We would also like to thank Katy and Amy, two Year Nine students, who took photographs of the day and recorded our ‘live’ interviews.

Episode Twenty Eight

November 15th, 2009 by

This week is our anti-bullying week special podcast.  National anti-bullying week takes place from 16th to 20th November and the national theme this year is cyber bullying.  We are therefore hosting a number of activities in the school to raise awareness and educate students as to how to avoid either being a victim or perpetrator of cyber bullying.  These include a series of assemblies, an open session of the ‘chat and chill’ room and a range of activities to be carried out during tutor time.  Please enjoy this podcast and share the information with anyone that you feel might benefit.

Thanks to Stephen Bowling for putting this episode together.
